Introduction!
Hello! I’d like to start this out by introducing myself! 👋
I’m sure by the title you’ve gathered than my name is Amanda. I am almost 29 and I go by she/her/they/them pronouns.
I’ve been an avid reader since I was in elementary school. As the years went on I started reading less and less as I found it more difficult to focus. In 2022 I realized that ebooks make my reading life *much* easier. I figured if I was going to be on scrolling anyway I might as well be reading! I started out by reading on my phone and my iPad and realized I could focus so much easier! That year I set my reading goal to 10 books since I was just getting back into reading. Never thought I’d get anywhere close. I surpassed that goal by a LOT! I read 65 books in 2022!! I surprised the hell out of myself.
Midway through 2023 I got a kindle paperwhite and it’s also made a huge difference. At first I didn’t notice any improvement with headaches - actually the first week I had it my headaches were worse! I was very nervous about this as everyone says they’re so much better for your eyes. After that week it was like a light switch flipped and my eyes adjusted. It’s so light weight and it makes it so much easier to carry around versus my iPad. It even fits in a hoodie pocket! Between the Libby app (shout to public libraries!!) and my kindle I read 59 books in 2023!
2024 I have set my reading goal to 50 books. So far I have read 9 books - a couple were parts to audio books, but hey! those count! - this year.
Looking forward to writing more in depth about the books I read. I always have so many thoughts that by the time I get through it and it’s time to write a review on goodreads and instagram it’s hard to make anything coherent. I’m hoping that by taking notes as I read in combination with my kindle highlights I can write more coherent thoughts. I also tend to forget what I literally just read as soon as I close the book so I hope this helps my memory!
Looking forward to writing more 😊
I post mini reviews and updates to my Bookstagram, StoryGraph, GoodReads, and Fable.
